Koro Industries is a custom ring gear manufacturer. Ring gears are typically the larger gear in a ring/pinion gear pair. The ring gear is driven by the smaller gear, the pinion. The photo on the right gives an example of a worm and ring gear pair.
Ring gears also function as internal gears. See the first photo on the left below.
